Window Shopping
Digital
Installation
Located in the historic Palmer Square of Princeton, New Jersey, Window Shopping is a projection-based installation that utilizes motion sensors to capture the silhouettes of those passing by, allowing their virtual simulacrum to re-occupy retail space made vacant by Covid-19. The project appropriates the digital language of online shopping—via the browser window—to contemplate the loss of place-based interaction in everyday retail environments.
Window Shopping is made possible through the support of the Palmer Square Management Group, the Keller Center for Innovation in Engineering Education, and the Princeton University School of Architecture.
